1560 British Pound Coin Ring - London Blue Topaz - Queen Elizabeth I

£195.00

This Queen Elizabeth I pound coin ring is made from a modern restrike of one of Britains iconic medieval gold coins, from the "Millionaire Collection" of coins from the London Mint. This handmade British coin ring depicts medieval iconography and latin inscriptions, and features a flush set with a 3mm London Blue Topaz.

The Elizabeth I gold pound circa 1560, was one of the few gold coins minted during her reign as many were minted in silver. This modern restrike retains the royal crown both on the quartered shield and on the Queen's bust. The Latin abbreviated inscription "SCVTVM FIDEI PROTEGET EAM" which translates to "The Shield of Faith Shall Protect Her".

As with all of our rings, this is designed to be worn rather than as a "one-off" show piece (though it certainly is that too!): we have meticulously thinned down the inside of the reeded edge from the coin to reduce the thickness giving the inside a more uniform fit with this particular ring being given a uniform, curved, "barreled" shape.

The ring pictured is sized to a Y (US size 12), which cannot be modified due to the set stone, but custom orders can be made to your own specification (size, stone, coin, finish) - please enquire with your specific size. We have other coins from the "Millionaire Collection" in stock, some coins smaller, and can look to create the perfect medieval coin ring to suit your size - just drop us a message to see our coin stock.

The silver fineness of the original coin is 92.5%, sterling silver.

All of our rings come with a lifetime of benefits so you can continue to enjoy your ring for years to come.
