1953 Panama Half Balboa Coin Ring - Vasco Núñez de Balboa
This Panamanian coin ring is made from a silver coin here in the UK, shipped worldwide for free. The coin is a 1953 50th anniversary commemorative half Balboa struck in silver.
The ring features beautiful details of the Panama coat of arms with the national harpy eagle, wreaths, spears and a cornucopia. The Balboa also shows elements of Vasco Núñez de Balboa’s helmet and armour, who the coin is named after. When Panama separated from Columbia in 1903 it adopted the US dollar as its currency and the half Balboa was minted in the same size and silver content of the US half dollar that circulated alongside it.
The reeded edge of the coin has been retained in the tradition style of coin ring. The ring here has been antiqued with the details polished to make them stand out with the interior retained too showing the obverse of the coin. Though this is a stock ring (in UK size P 1/2, US size 8) it can be a custom order at no additional cost and, as such, any aspects of the design can be changed from removal of the reeded edge to polished finish - just message us to discuss your requirements.
